Supporting older people

focus on the South West

Local Government Improvement and Development has launched a new ‘ageing well’ programme to help councils respond to the needs of an ageing population at a time of spending cutbacks.

The work is being supported by the Department for Work and Pensions and will encourage councils to improve quality of life for older people
through developing services which meet their needs, and through recognising the contribution they make to communities.
